Waking the body’s natural healing intelligence
Acupuncture is the art of gently stimulating special points on the body — known as acupoints — to awaken the body’s own healing response. Rather than forcing change, acupuncture invites your system to remember how to move, flow, and restore itself.
Acupoints, called xué in Chinese (meaning “cave” or “hollow”), are like small wells of energy and information. They might seem empty at first glance, but they are rich with connection, communication, and the wisdom of the body. When stimulated, they send signals that ripple through the entire system, supporting balance, vitality, and healing.
This ancient knowledge has been lovingly refined and handed down through countless generations. Today, we are the lucky recipients of a tradition that is still alive, still evolving, and still deeply relevant to the modern world.
Acupoints can be activated in many ways:
Acupressure uses gentle touch — fingers or palms — to stimulate healing. I sometimes teach acupressure techniques you can use at home.
Acupuncture uses fine, single-use needles (about the width of a hair) to create a clear, precise conversation with the body. Most people find acupuncture deeply calming, often entering a state of profound rest during treatment.
Moxibustion involves gently warming acupoints with a smouldering herbal stick, encouraging healing through the comfort of penetrating heat.
Sho Ni Shin is a no-needle technique for children, using small tapping and brushing tools to open and harmonize the energy pathways in a gentle, playful way.
Every session is tailored to what your body needs in the moment, offering a quiet support for the deep intelligence that is always moving within you.
